Your Guide
Locally born and bred, Brad Wilson has fished the Cohuna
area for over 25 years. He has a vast knowledge of the waterways
in the area.
His family has a good fishing pedigree. Four generations
of fishos including a professional fisherman Uncle (now
retired) who has appeared on Rex Hunt Fishing Show a couple
of times and Grandparents that run a bait selling business.
Waterways that are fished
Cohuna Fishing Advetures can take you on a fishing adventure
to many locations within the greater Cohuna region including:
Murray River, Wakool River, Niemur River, Edwards River,
Gunbower Creek and Pyramid Creek.
Fishing Styles
Specialising in land based sweetwater sportsfishing,
Cohuna Fishing Adventures uses both lure and bait fishing
techniques in search of the elusive Australian iconic fish,
the mighty Murray Cod, Golden Perch (Yellowbelly) &
Silver Perch (bream).
Seasonal requirements, size limits & bag limits
Cod season is from 01st December - 31st August. Season
closure September to November. Legal length of Murray Cod
55cm (1/12/07 - 30/11/08) & will change to 60cm after
the 30/11/08. Bag Limit for Murray Cod is 2 (only over 100cm
in total).
Silver
Perch (Bream) fishing is prohibited in NSW & Vic rivers
& creeks.
Golden Perch (Yellow Belly), there's no season. Size limit
is 30cm. Bag limit is 5.
Murray Cray Fish, closed season is September - April. Size
limit is 9cm. Bag limit is 5 (only 1 over 12cm).
